A little more about me...

I was born and raised in Upper Franconia—picture a German village surrounded by dense spruce forests and rolling green fields. Balmy summers and snowed-in winters. The best bread in the world (although I may be biased)... Oh, and did I mention that we have the highest number of breweries per capita in the world?

Yeah. It's a pretty magical place.

 

I left my little bubble of sourdough and serenity at 17 to go to the "big city", where I studied translation (B.A.) and, later on, conference interpreting (M.A.) at Leipzig University.

 

Several years later, with my master's (almost) completed, I decided to take a break from interpreting and set off to Australia for a Working Holiday in 2018—where I promptly met someone (much to my mum's dismay). I lived in Australia for the next 7 years, until my Heimweh for Europe grew too strong and I finally convinced my partner to move back with me (much to my mum's delight).

It will come as no surprise that I've always had a passion for languages and writing. Being a native German speaker who has lived in an English-speaking country for 7 years, not to mention being in an English-speaking relationship, has graced me with excellent bilingual language skills, allowing me to work confidently in both English and German.
